Linda Darling-Hammond's Testimony

This is Linda Darling-Hammond's testimony before the House Education and Labor Committee on the Re-Authorization of NCLB.

Notice that she focuses on competitiveness as the lynchpin of her argument.

So does this indicate that anti-NCLB'ers like Darling-Hammond accept the competitiveness rationale? Or is this Darling-Hammond being cagey, knowing that the only thing that will get the attention of politicians is to couch everything inside of the competitiveness frame?

If the former, it reminds me of Lakoff's point about "tax relief."

We don't question the whole notion of "competitiveness" as a ridiculous canard.
